LUMBER AND LACE THEMED WEDDING
When I moved to the States five years ago – I knew I was giving up a lot.
I didn’t know when would be the next time I would see my family and I missed out
on Christmas parties, birthdays and fun times with my family and friends.
But I wasn’t going to miss out on celebrating my sisters wedding!
When I heard that she was getting married, I immediately started looking for a ticket to Germany.
Not only was I going to be a guest at her wedding – I was also going to be her wedding photographer.
While this makes it harder visiting with family and simply enjoying the day – it meant that I got to spend her entire wedding day by her side – from the very moment she started getting ready to marry the love of her life to dancing with her husband by the end of the night.
I’m so happy I got to document my sister’s wedding day; The tears of happiness – as the children she teaches surprised her with a song they had prepared to the tears she cried as we visited our father in the hospital.
Every wedding is unique but Djamila & Simon’s wedding was especially beautiful – filled with love and laughter.
(I might be a little biased though)
